Amit Shah’s Visit to ‘Kibithoo Village’ in Arunachal Pradesh
Guwahati: Chief minister of Arunachal Pradesh Pema Khandu called Amit Shah’s visit to Kibithoo, the last Indian town bordering china as ‘historic’ moment.
Union Home Minister landed in Kibithoo village to launch the centrally sponsored ‘Vibrant Village Programme’.
CM Pema Khandu said, “The Union Home Minister Amit Shah has reached here to launch the Vibrant Village Programme. Like you said before, the earlier border area development programme (BADP) has been now re-designed or re-engineered to Vibrant Village Programme by the Centre. Under this programme, all northern borders and villages bordering China will be taken up for developmental activities. Surprisingly, Arunachal Pradesh has the largest number of villages under which the model has been taken up for development”.
“Like PM Modi says, the village along the LAC (Line of Actual Control) is not the last village but the first village of India, hence various convergence model will be initiated along with the combined efforts of the Central and State government.”
Speaking on China’s recent attempt to rename 11 places in Arunachal Pradesh claiming it to be part of South Tibet, CM Khandu said,“It is not a new thing for us. China has already attempted such malicious acts twice in the past, and the Ministry of External Affairs has already sent out a strong message over China’s acts.”
Meanwhile, Khandu is hopeful that the last village of India Kibithoo will get internet services.
“We are hopeful by year end internet services will reach out to each and every village in this region”, said Khandu.
