Amritpal Singh to Be Sworn In as MP for Khadoor Sahib Today

Guwahati, 5th July: Amritpal Singh, chief of ‘Waris Punjab De’ and newly elected MP from Khadoor Sahib, Punjab, is set to be sworn in as a Member of Parliament today.

Contesting independently in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Singh secured a decisive victory over Congress candidate Kulbir Singh Zira, capturing the parliamentary seat with a commanding margin of 1,97,120 votes.

Singh, who was incarcerated as a radical Sikh preacher and held in Dibrugarh jail, has been transferred to Delhi for his parliamentary swearing-in ceremony.

The oath-taking ceremony is scheduled for today, marking his official induction into the Parliament.
