Amritpal Singh’s Four Arrested Aides Brought to Dibrugarh, Assam

Guwahati: Amritpal Singh’s four arrested aides were brought to Dibrugarh on March 19 as part of the crackdown on the pro-Khalistani leader in Punjab.

According to reports, the case of Amritpal Singh’s assistants will be handled by Assam’s top cop and Singh’s assistant was held in the Dibrugarh district.

”Four arrested aides of Khalistani leader Amritpal Singh have been brought to Dibrugarh by Special Air force aircraft to Dibrugarh little while ago. They will be likely to be kept in Dibrugarh Central Jail. A 27-member team from Punjab Police including IG Prison accompanying them,” reports stated.

They were met at Mohanbari Airport by the Deputy Commissioner (DC) and Superintendent of Police (SP) of Dibrugarh under heavy protection.

Pro-Khalistan outfit, Waris Punjab De chief Amritpal Singh was designated a fugitive by Punjab Police on March 18 after he was reported to be on the run.

The members of the group against whom several cases have been filed are the target of a massive statewide cordon and search operation that the Punjab Police initiated in the state.

”Waris Punjab De chief Amritpal Singh has been declared a fugitive. His two cars were seized and gunmen nabbed. We also checked if the firearms of his security escorts had been procured legally,” said Jalandhar Commissioner Kuldeep Singh Chahal.

Chahal further informed that a case has been registered and Punjab Police have launched a manhunt for Amritpal Singh.

”We are hopeful that he will be apprehended soon. A total of 78 people have been arrested so far and further searches and raids are underway,” he added.

According to reports, Punjab Police searched his home for three to four hours on March 18 but found nothing illegal.
