Amul & Mother Dairy Milk Prices Hiked by Rs 2 Per Litre
Guwahati: The Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), which sells its dairy goods under the brand name “Amul,” has raised milk prices by Rs 2 per litre.
The prices of Amul’s Gold, Taaza and Shakti milk brands have been increased. The new prices will be effective from Wednesday, the GCMMF said in a statement.
According to a statement from the GCMMF, Amul Gold, Taaza, and Shakti milk brand prices have increased and the new prices will take effect on Wednesday.
According to the report, the price increase coincides with a rise in the overall cost of production and operation.
According to the statement, the increase of 2 rupees per litre results in an MRP increase of 4%, which is less than the average rate of inflation for food.
In February of this year, Amul raised their rates. Following this, the price of Amul Gold milk increased to Rs 30 for 500 ml, Amul Taaza to Rs 24 for 500 ml, and Amul Shakti to Rs 27 for 500 ml.
All markets where Amul sells fresh milk, including Mumbai, West Bengal, Delhi-NCR, and Ahmedabad and Saurashtra in Gujarat, have seen price increases.
According to the GCMMF, the pricing of 500 ml of Amul Gold, Amul Taaza, and Amul Shakti in Ahmedabad and Saurashtra markets will now be Rs 31, Rs 25, and Rs 28, respectively.
“The cattle feeding cost alone has increased by approximately 20 per cent compared to last year. Considering the rise in input costs, our member unions have also increased farmers’ prices in the range of eight to nine per cent over the previous year,” the statement said.
