ANCSU Condemns Alleged Police Assault on College Student

Northeast Desk, 7th February: The All Nagaland College Students Union (ANCSU) has voiced deep concern and condemned the police force for reportedly assaulting a B.A (MC) 2nd-semester student of Tetso College on January 29.

According to a press note released by the ANCSU, the student suffered left eardrum damage, a fractured spinal cord, and a swollen kidney following a brutal assault by police personnel.

The incident has garnered significant media attention and has shocked and appalled not only the family members but also the entire student community. While law enforcement agencies are entrusted with ensuring safety, it is disheartening to witness such a blatant abuse of power and a violation of the public’s trust in the police force. The incident undermines the principles of justice and fairness and erodes the community’s faith in law enforcement.

The ANCSU has labeled this act by the police personnel as a clear violation of human rights and a direct contradiction to the principles of a just and democratic society. They have urged for holding those responsible accountable for their actions and ensuring that such incidents do not recur.

Demanding an immediate investigation and appropriate action against the involved police personnel, the student union calls upon all right-thinking citizens and organizations to vehemently condemn such criminal acts to deliver justice to the innocent victim and prevent future occurrences. They appeal to the concerned department to conduct an immediate investigation and take suitable action against the unjust police personnel.
