Anmol Rai Crowned Miss Pink Nepal 2024 in Celebratory Event

International Desk, 18th May: Anmol Rai, a transwoman, was crowned Miss Pink Nepal 2024 during a grand gala in Kathmandu. Sarosy Neupane and Aarohi Basnet were named first and second runners-up, respectively. Rai will go on to represent Nepal at the Miss International Queen 2024 competition in Thailand later this year.

The event, organized by Diamond Society Nepal, was a vibrant celebration of Nepal’s rich cultural heritage, coinciding with the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Intersexphobia, Transphobia, and Aphobia. It aimed to raise awareness about the struggles of the LGBTQ community and promote acceptance and equality.

Nepal, a leader in South Asia for LGBTQ rights, recently legalized same-sex marriage, showcasing its dedication to gender equality and non-discrimination. The Miss Pink Nepal event underscored these advancements and celebrated the progress of the LGBTQ community.
