Guwahati: The anti-Bhupen Bora movement is gathering steam within the Assam Congress. Several Congress MLAs have banded together to launch a petition drive to get Bhupen Bora removed as Assam Congress president.
All the signatures will be submitted to Congress party’s Assam in-charge Jitendra Singh on Tuesday.
The anti-Bhupen Bora section would hand over the signatures to Singh on the side-lines of the Congress party legislature meeting.
Meanwhile, numerous Congress MLAs have spoken out against Bhupen Bora and demanded a leadership change.
It needs to be mentioned that the Assam Congress will begin its two-day legislative party meeting today. The meeting is set to begin shortly and will last until 6 pm today.
Moreover, Jitendra Singh will begin holding talks with the party’s student and women’s wings tomorrow.
