Anti-Drug Drive in Assam: Apprehensions and Significant Heroin Seizures
Guwahati, 22nd September: The Namrup police in Assam initiated a robust anti-drugs operation in Golai Basti, Dibrugarh, leading to the apprehension of several individuals suspected to be involved in the drug trade. Among those taken into custody are Amar Mukherjee and Chintu Das, both young individuals believed to have ties to the illegal drug market.
As part of this operation, law enforcement officers uncovered approximately 10 grams of illicit substances, concealed within three containers. This significant seizure underscores the ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking and addiction in the region.
In a separate incident that unfolded in Assam’s Sonitpur district, village guards played a crucial role in a major drug-related discovery. They seized two soap boxes filled with heroin from two unidentified youths, although the suspects managed to evade capture.
