Anti-Drug Operation in Assam’s South Salmara Mankachar Leads to Arrest and Seizure of Narcotics
South Salmara Mankachar, Assam – In a midnight anti-drug operation conducted by the South Salmara Mankachar police, a suspected trafficker was arrested, and a significant quantity of narcotics was seized in Manullapara village under the jurisdiction of Kharuabandha police station.
The operation, based on intelligence gathered by police detectives, was led by Additional Superintendent of Police Pratap Das. Personnel from Kharuabandha and Kalapani police stations collaborated in the coordinated raid targeting the residence of Ismail Hussain, 26, son of Abdul Qadir Ali, in South Manullapara village.
During the raid, authorities recovered 575 Tramadol tablets and 5 Yaba tablets, along with Rs 2,460 in cash. A motorcycle allegedly used in the smuggling activities was also seized. The raid, executed at midnight, caught the suspect off guard, ensuring the successful confiscation of the illegal substances.
Hussain was taken into custody and is currently under interrogation. Police are working to trace the broader network involved in the narcotics trade in the region.
