Anti-Drug Operations Lead to Multiple Arrests and Seizures in Assam

Guwahati, 21th August: In a series of anti-drug operations, the Cachar police in Assam conducted successful raids, resulting in the apprehension of suspects and the seizure of a significant amount of heroin on Sunday night.

In Dholai, police discovered a large quantity of heroin concealed within 60 soap boxes during a search of a vehicle lacking a number plate. The total weight of the seized heroin was 780 grams. Three individuals, Enam Uddin Talukdar, Bachan Ali Sheikh, and Fayeh Ahmed Mazumdar, were arrested as part of the operation.

Mehboob Alam Mazumdar and Abul Hussain Laskar were arrested in a separate operation on Sonai Kabuganj Road, and 120 grams of heroin were found on them.

A similar operation in Jogighopa resulted in the arrest of a drug dealer named Ajmer Ali from Kabaitari village. Law enforcement confiscated 11.50 grams of heroin concealed within six containers.

Four traffickers were taken into custody in Sarupathar as a result of a police raid: Sajir Hussain, Habibur Rahman, Salim Hussain, and Krishna Neog. 6.72 grams of heroin, cash, and cell phones were found during the operation. It was discovered that these individuals were buying drugs from Dimapur to distribute in Sarupathar.

In Rangia, an individual named Moon Ali was apprehended in possession of 13 grams of heroin.

While this was going on, the Kachua police of Nagaon carried out a raid and detained Abdul Malek, Sajida Khatun, and Kulsuma Khatun, together with two females. They had 120 grams of heroin hidden inside soap boxes when they were discovered.

These successful operations highlight the ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking and the importance of strong law enforcement measures.
