Anurag Thakur: Govt to introduce law to regulate digital media
Guwahati: Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur said that the government is working on a bill to control digital media.
Speaking to a crowd at an event hosted by the Hindi publication “Mahanagar Times,” the Union Minister said that news communication has developed into a complex process.
According to a statement from the Union Minister, news transmission used to be one-way but has since evolved to be multidimensional as a result of the expansion of electronic and digital media.
Thakur further said that the majority of print, electronic, and digital media are governed by self-regulation. “Both opportunities and difficulties are presented by digital media. Government will investigate this to determine what can be done to achieve a balance,” he continued.
