APCC Spokesperson Abdul Khaleque Quits from Post

Guwahati: Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) Spokesperson Abdul Khaleque resigned from his position on Saturday.

Additionally, Khalek has resigned from all APCC party positions.

According to reports, he made the decision to support Mallikarjun Kharge’s bid for Congress president.

He said, “I have sent my resignation letter to the President of @INCAssam from Senior Spokesperson and all other party posts to participate in the campaign of Shri @kharge Ji for #CongressPresidentPoll following the guidelines of the Central Election Authority of @INCIndia Party.”

General Secretary of APCC Kamrul Islam Choudhury submitted his resignation from the party’s primary membership last month.

In a letter to Congress president Sonia Gandhi, Choudhury listed the “directionless and confused leadership of the APCC” as his primary reason for quitting.

He claimed, the Congress party in Assam has grown “unstable” as a result.
