APSC CCE Mains Postponed & To Be Held in July
Guwahati: Combined Competitive Examinations (CCE) Mains will now take place in the month of July, the Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) announced in a significant change.
This comes after the tests were previously postponed to take place in June. The Mains exams will be place in June, according to a notification from April 12—the same day the APSC announced the results of its prelims round of exams. The specific dates would be announced later, the APSC had stated in the statement.
It should be noted that the CCE Mains were scheduled to take place in August and September according to the APSC calendar, however the commission moved those dates earlier by two months. Candidates who were waiting to take the exam reacted negatively to the move.
And now, APSC has once more announced that the CCE Mains exams will take place in July, a month later than originally scheduled in June.
The most recent announcement states that the Mains exam will now take place on July 8, 9 and 10. The All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) among other student organisations had challenged the choice to hold the exams in June which led to the change in dates.
According to the most recent APSC notification, dated April 29, the examination which consists of six papers will be held in two batches on the three aforementioned dates, “forenoon” from 9 am to 12 pm and “afternoon” from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm.
The notification from APSC read, “It is for information to all concerned candidates that the Combined Competitive (Main Examination, 2022 will be held on 8th, 9th and 10th July, 2023.”
