The Assam Public Service Commission has taken a great step by introducing ‘transgender’ option in the gender category of the civil service examination form. With this inclusion Assam has become the first state in India to do so.
42 aspirants from the transgender community has already applied for the posts of ACS Junior grade and other associated services. The Assam State Transgender Welfare Board has appreciated the brave step taken by the APSC council.
