Arms & Ammo Found Buried In Assam’s Karbi Anglong
Guwahati: A huge cache of arms and ammunitions were recovered by Karbi Anglong police during a raid on Thursday.
According to reports, officials discovered the guns cache was buried underground.
Reportedly, the seizure was made during an operation at Langhin in Dokmoka in the Karbi Anglong district.
An AK-47 rifle, a 9mm pistol, a 0.32mm pistol, a carbine and two magazines were among the weapons and ammo that were seized. Nine AK series magazines, 88 live rounds and seven 9mm bullets were also discovered during the search.
Officials are unsure of the origin of the arms. They believe that the weapons and ammo were hidden there and belong to insurgent outfits.
An investigation into the recovery of the arms and ammunition have been initiated by the police.
