Army Chopper makes One-Skid Landing on road in Arunachal

National desk, 8 July: An advanced light helicopter carrying out a medical evacuation mission in Arunachal Pradesh on Friday performed one skid landing on the road while evacuating patients due to bad weather.

Following the landing, two seriously ill patients were evacuated to the Jorhat district of assam.

Spear Corps of the Indian Army on Saturday took to Twitter saying, “An Advanced Light Helicopter was tasked to undertake medical evacuation mission on 07 July 23 in #ArunachalPradesh. Bad weather precluded reaching the designated place- Helicopter made ‘One Skid Landing’ on a road. 2 critical patients evacuated to Jorhat thereafter.”

Prior to that, the Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) on July 7 forecasted that Assam and the Northeast would experience severe rainfall over the following five days.

Emergency personnel have found it challenging to reach distant areas of the northeast region due to heavy rainfall that has caused landslides and erosion.
