Guwahati: The Army Day Parade, which is typically held in New Delhi, will be held on January 15 in Bengaluru of Karnataka as part of initiatives to organise significant events outside the national capital.
An Army official said, “The next Army Day parade will be held in Bengaluru on January 15, 2023. This would be the first time ever that the Army Day parade would be shifted outside the national capital.”
Notably, Army Day is celebrated annually on January 15 to commemorate the day in 1949 when the Indian Army’s first Indian officer assumed command.
The Indian Air Force also held their Air Force Day parade and fly past in Chandigarh as part of the activities carried out in accordance with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s directions to mark national and military events outside of Delhi.
