Guwahati, 14th August: In a significant development, law enforcement authorities in Sivasagar, Assam, have taken a suspect into custody in connection with an alleged rape and murder case that sent shockwaves through the community.
On August 10, the lifeless body of a woman was discovered at an under-construction site in Rupohipothar, Sivasagar. The circumstances surrounding her death immediately raised concerns of foul play, prompting investigators to delve into the matter further.
Following a thorough investigation, a suspect by the name of Lambit Deka was apprehended by the police. Deka, hailing from the Dhemaji district of Assam, was taken into custody based on evidence and leads collected during the course of the inquiry.
