Arrested Pradip Dutta Roy rushed to SMCH

Guwahati: Pradip Dutta Roy, the chief convener of Barak Democratic Front (BDF) was rushed to Silchar Medical College Hospital (SMCH) after complaining of severe chest pain at midnight.

According to reports, the jail authorities brought him to SMCH after he complained of chest pain at around 2 am on Sunday.
Dutta was later shifted back to jail after receiving the required treatment and being discharged from SMCH.

It may be noted that Pradeep earlier informed the media that he is a patient of heart and had recently undergone a liver transplant operation.

However, Roy further alleged that even after informing his medical condition to the officials he was not being allowed to have homemade food on Saturday.

It needs to be mentioned that he was arrested on Saturday evening by Cachar Police after being interrogated for more than 8 hours for issuing an ultimatum of 48 hours to replace an Assamese hoarding with a Bengali one.

Moreover, Dutta was arrested under section 153(A)/295/295(A)/124/506/505 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
