Arunachal: Army Honors Siang Valley Heroes on Kepang La Day

Gelling, Arunachal Pradesh: The Indian Army’s Spear Corps paid homage to the brave soldiers and villagers of Siang Valley who made the ultimate sacrifice during the 1962 Indo-China War.

A solemn ceremony was held on November 17th at Kepang La Chorten to commemorate Kepang La Day.

The event honored the indomitable spirit of the Siang Valley people, who stood shoulder-to-shoulder with the Indian Army to defend the nation’s borders. A wreath-laying ceremony, Guard of Honour, and prayers at the Gelling Monastery were part of the tribute.

The Army also acknowledged the invaluable support provided by the local villagers during the war. Their courage and unity continue to inspire generations.

The ceremony was attended by local dignitaries, school children, and residents, who gathered to remember the sacrifices made by the bravehearts of Siang Valley.

Kepang La, a strategic mountain pass on the Indo-Tibetan border, holds immense historical significance. It symbolizes the unwavering spirit of India’s soldiers and the unwavering support of its people.
