Arunachal Athletes Shine at 7th National Open Taekwondo Championship

Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh athletes delivered an outstanding performance at the 7th National Open Taekwondo Championship 2024, clinching three gold medals and securing two additional podium finishes, cementing the state’s growing prominence in the sport.

Badal Das, Dorik Gamoh, and Marpi Basar claimed gold in their respective weight categories, showcasing their exceptional skills.

Ampo Apum also contributed to the medal tally, while Gamoh added a silver and Basar secured a bronze, further highlighting the team’s dominance.

The championship, held in Lucknow, saw participation from athletes across India. Chief Minister Pema Khandu took to social media to congratulate the athletes, lauding their achievements for elevating Arunachal Pradesh’s sporting profile.

This success reflects the state’s growing investment in martial arts programs, marking a significant milestone in nurturing sporting talent and inspiring the next generation of athletes.
