Arunachal: BJP Candidate Emerges Victorious Unopposed in Itanagar Assembly Constituency

Northeast Desk, 29th March: In a significant development, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate from the 13th Itanagar Assembly constituency in Arunachal Pradesh, Techi Kaso, has emerged victorious without facing any opposition.

Reports indicate that Techi Kaso is poised to clinch the Assembly seat uncontested after the nomination of the National People’s Party (NNP) candidate, Tai Tadap, was rejected by the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO). While the official confirmation is pending, this development underscores the BJP’s growing dominance in the region.

Earlier, Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu secured an uncontested victory from the Mukto Assembly constituency, adding to the BJP’s list of uncontested wins in the state. This trend is evident across several key districts, including Papum Pare, where opposition candidates have notably abstained from contesting, potentially paving the way for a sweeping victory by the ruling party.

Noteworthy contenders such as Er Ratu Techi from Sagalee are also set to secure uncontested wins, further solidifying the BJP’s stronghold in various constituencies. With candidates like Er Hage Appa from Ziro facing no opposition in Lower Subansiri district, the BJP’s dominance is evident across multiple regions.

The latest update reveals a total of six candidates securing uncontested victories, including Jikke Tako from Tali, Nyato Dukom from Taliha, Ratu Techi from Sagalee, and Mutchu Mithi from Roing Assembly constituencies. As the electoral landscape unfolds, the BJP’s overwhelming presence signals a significant shift in Arunachal Pradesh’s political dynamics.
