Arunachal Chief Minister Promotes Anti-Drug Message Through Badminton Championship

Northeast Desk, 19th August: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on August 19 used the microblogging site X to promote the 11th Li-Ning Dorjee Khandu Memorial State Badminton Championship with a strong anti-drug message: “NO TO DRUGS, YES TO BADMINTON.”

The tournament, which emphasizes combating drug abuse, features participants from 26 districts, including teams from Sangay Lhaden Sports Academy, APP Sports Control Board, and Rajiv Gandhi University. In his message, Chief Minister Khandu encouraged players to seize the opportunity to learn, improve their skills, and excel in the sport.

“Use this opportunity to learn from your drawbacks, advance your skills, and rise further in the shuttlers’ world,” Khandu stated in his post, underscoring the event’s dual focus on promoting sports and addressing drug abuse.
