Itanagar: A 10-year-old student of Larh Laywr Public School in Arunachal Pradesh’s Papum Pare district died after being assaulted by his classmate.
The incident occurred when the victim, Kino Abo, was attending private tuition.
According to reports, Abo was attacked on the forehead with a blunt object and was initially rushed to TRIHMS.
However, doctors referred him to a hospital in Dibrugarh, Assam, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The accused, also a 10-year-old student, has been declared a child in conflict with the law (CCWL) and has been remanded to a juvenile remand home in Pasighat for two days.
The All Kino Kamchung Society has condemned the incident and urged the Papum Pare police to conduct a thorough investigation.
Papum Pare SP Taru Gusar has assured the victim’s parents that the police will ensure justice and conduct an in-depth investigation into the case.
The police are currently investigating the matter and have recorded the statement of the minor.
