Arunachal: CM Pema Khandu Leads Vibrant BJP Campaign in Pasighat
Northeast Desk, 8th April: Arunachal Pradesh’s political fervor reached its peak as Chief Minister Pema Khandu took charge of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) election campaign, kicking off from Pasighat in the eastern belt. The campaign rally drew thousands of enthusiastic citizens from Pasighat Smart City, eager to hear the Chief Minister’s address.
Accompanied by Member of Parliament Tapir Gao, Chief Minister Pema Khandu passionately advocated for Pasighat East MLA Kaling Moyong and BJP candidate Ninong Ering, both vying for the Pasighat West MLA seat. Amidst a charged atmosphere, the BJP stalwarts rallied support for their candidates, emphasizing their vision for regional progress and development.
Kaling Moyong, the incumbent BJP MLA of Pasighat, secured victory in 2014 by unseating the then sitting Education Minister Bosiram Siram, now the Congress candidate for Arunachal East MP. In an exclusive interview with IndiaToday correspondent Maksam Tayeng, Moyong outlined his decade-long achievements and developmental initiatives.
Moyong detailed Pasighat’s transformation under BJP governance, highlighting the expansion of infrastructure and civic amenities as evidence of the party’s dedication to progress. New stadiums, modern markets, upgraded educational institutions like JNC College and Gurukul School, and enhanced healthcare facilities such as the Bakin Pertin Hospital were hailed as milestones in Pasighat’s evolution into a meticulously planned city.
