Arunachal CM Pema Khandu Mourns Sudden Demise of Former Footballer Pani Raju

Northeast Desk, 16th September: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu expressed deep shock and sorrow over the sudden death of Pani Raju, a former national-level footballer from the state. Raju, who also served as a constable with the 3rd IRBn camp in Yupia, passed away on Sunday, September 15, at the TRIHMS hospital in Naharlagun.

In a heartfelt statement, Khandu praised Raju’s significant contributions to the sport. “Shri Raju’s contributions to the game will always be remembered with the highest regard,” the Chief Minister said, recognizing the footballer’s dedication and representation of Arunachal Pradesh in numerous national and zonal championships.

The Arunachal Pradesh Football Association (APFA) also mourned Raju’s untimely demise, calling it “a great loss for the entire football family of the state.” The association highlighted his active participation and leadership in representing Arunachal Pradesh at various competitive levels.

Chief Minister Khandu extended his deepest condolences to Raju’s family, friends, and fans, concluding his message with a Buddhist prayer for the peace of the departed soul.
