Arunachal CM Pema Khandu Unveils Infrastructure Boom in Tawang, Launches Key Development Projects

Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu has announced a major infrastructure push across Tawang, unveiling completed projects worth millions while launching new initiatives aimed at boosting connectivity, tourism, and public welfare.

The developments mark a significant step toward improving living conditions in some of India’s most remote northeastern regions.

A key highlight among the completed projects is a 15-kilometre road connecting Babrang Bridge Point to Rho Village, which will drastically improve access to remote settlements.

Built to endure the region’s challenging terrain, the road reduces travel time while enhancing emergency response capabilities.

Tourism infrastructure received a major boost with the inauguration of the Recreation Park at Rho and the Jang SD Adventure Zone.

These projects position Tawang as a rising adventure tourism destination, adding to its appeal among travelers.

In the education sector, a new hostel at the Government Residential School was inaugurated, addressing long-standing accommodation concerns for students.

The Chief Minister also laid the foundation stone for 12 new projects, including the construction of a mini-secretariat at Jang and residential quarters for government employees.

Development plans for the popular Tsachu and Mago hot springs were also announced, ensuring modern facilities while preserving their natural charm.

Cultural and religious heritage remains a priority, with new facilities planned for the Ani Cultural Centre and Silling Samten Cultural Centre.

These initiatives reflect the government’s commitment to preserving the region’s rich traditions alongside infrastructural progress.

The wave of new projects is expected to significantly enhance the quality of life for communities in the Jang Sub-Division and Thingbu Circle areas, reinforcing the state’s development agenda while balancing modern growth with cultural preservation.
