Arunachal CM Visits Last Village of India & pledges Improved Infra
Guwahati: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu paid a visit to Damin village on Monday. Damin is located in the Kurung Kumey district of the state, which is part of the last administrative circle of India and assured people of all possible help from the government to improve the infrastructure of the area.
The Chief Minister was accompanied by State Home Minister Byabang Felix and the local MLA Lokam Tassar.
The Damin circle’s renowned social worker and panchayat leader Ruba Tanang honoured the chief minister with traditional attire.
The first Chief Minister to travel to this final region of the state and nation is Pema Khandu.
The Damin Circle lacks numerous essential amenities including a mobile connection and suitable transportation options due to poor road conditions.
In his remarks, Khandu pledged that the government will provide all assistance available to help the area’s infrastructure.
Moreover, the Chief Minister gave local MLA Lokam Tassar the official notice of the Damin circle’s upgrade to ADC headquarters.
Khandu gave the assurance that the government will use every effort to develop the infrastructure in order to facilitate the resettling of the migrated people in response to the issue of villagers moving to cities due to a lack of infrastructure and basic amenities in the villages.
Khandu also raised Damin Circle’s sole middle school to the secondary level.
He also spoke with representatives from the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) battalion and the Boarder Road Organization (BRO), who emphasised the most recent advancements in road and other facilities.
Locals told him that while the Food Corporation of India (FCI) distributes rice under the Public Distribution System (PDS) for Rs 3 per kilogramme, it is really sold to the public for between Rs 10 and 15 per kilogramme due to high transport costs.
Home Minister Felix promised that he would speak with the Deputy Commissioner about the high cost of the rice given by PDS and find a resolution as soon as possible when speaking to ANI about the matter.
Felix also gave the populace the assurance that the mobile tower would soon be erected in Damin Circle.
Traditional dances from the area were performed by the local troops.
