Arunachal: District Administration Promotes Mental Well-being through Yoga at Deepak Nabam Living Home

On the occasion of International Day of Yoga, Deputy Commissioner Shweta Nagarkoti Mehta IAS of District Administration Capital Itanagar led a celebration at Deepak Nabam Living Home in Arunachal Pradesh. Accompanied by ADC Datum Gadi and other officers, the event aimed to foster mental well-being among residents of the destitute center.

Emphasizing the significance of yoga in enhancing mental health, DC Shweta Nagarkoti Mehta highlighted its complementary role alongside traditional therapies. She underscored yoga’s holistic benefits, promoting it as a medication-free approach to treating various ailments and enhancing overall well-being.

Chairman Deepak Nabam expressed gratitude for the initiative, acknowledging yoga’s positive impact on mental strength among the residents. He appreciated the support received and efforts aimed at improving their quality of life.

Dr Papi Gungly, a doctor and yoga instructor, conducted an engaging yoga session that saw enthusiastic participation from the inmates. Following this, Dr Yeni Nabam, a clinical psychologist, conducted a counseling session tailored to address the residents’ needs.

As part of the initiative, DC Shweta Nagarkoti Mehta donated two water purifiers to Deepak Nabam Living Home, ensuring continuous access to clean drinking water for the residents. She also conducted a comprehensive inspection of the facility, reaffirming the administration’s commitment to supporting the well-being of all residents.
