Arunachal: Drug Peddler Arrested in Itanagar, Suspected Heroin Valued at Rs 51,000 Seized

Northeast Desk, August 16: Arunachal Pradesh police have made a significant drug-related arrest in Itanagar. On Thursday, officers apprehended a drug peddler in the Gandhi Market area and seized suspected heroin worth Rs 51,000.

The arrest followed a tip-off and was led by Capital Superintendent of Police (SP) Rohit Rajbir Singh. The accused was taken into custody after a thorough search of his residence revealed 51 plastic packets of heroin, meticulously packed.

During interrogation, the suspect admitted to sourcing the heroin from Assam with plans to distribute it in Itanagar. A case has been filed against the accused under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985.
