Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh witnessed a surge of national pride as Chief Minister Pema Khandu spearheaded a Tiranga Yatra in Walong, the nation’s easternmost point, on Monday.
The event, imbued with patriotic zeal, set the stage for the upcoming ‘Cabinet Aapke Dwar’ initiative, intended to enhance governmental outreach to remote regions.
The scenic hills of Walong became a canvas for the vibrant Indian tricolour, carried by a diverse assembly of Cabinet Ministers, local dignitaries, military personnel, and enthusiastic residents. The collective march underscored a profound sense of unity and respect for the country’s armed forces, fostering an atmosphere charged with patriotic fervour.
Culminating at the revered Walong War Memorial, the yatra transitioned into a solemn tribute to the valiant soldiers who perished during the 1962 Indo-China War. Chief Minister Khandu, in his address, underscored the paramount importance of honoring the sacrifices made by these defenders, stressing the need to instill their unwavering dedication and courage in the youth of today. “This land is a symbol of valour and resilience. The sacrifices made here remind us of our duty to the nation and our people,” he articulated.
This significant event precedes the ‘Cabinet Aapke Dwar’ initiative, a program designed to bridge the gap between governance and the populace, particularly in isolated and border areas. The initiative aims to ensure the efficient delivery of essential government services to the last mile, reinforcing the government’s commitment to inclusive development.
