Arunachal: Government Employees Arrested Over APPSC Paper Leak Case, says Home Minister Bamang Felix

Guwahati: Arunachal Pradesh Home minister Bamang Felix met with unions and student organisations to discuss the paper leak case involving the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commissioner on March 22.

Felix reported that 42 government workers have been detained till now in which 20 people who are on probation and 22 permanent employees.

The home minister informed reporters that the government had acceded to all of their demands after meeting with representatives of the Pan Arunachal Joint Steering Committee and the All Nyishi Students’ Union.

Felix suggested that an emergency investigation should be launched into the 2014–2022 chairman, secretary, members and all other APPSC officials.

Since the government has already issued a blanket order to investigate, “whoever is involved should be investigated,” the minister stated.

He stated that the chief secretary’s order has made the district and sessions court in Yupia a fast track court.

“The public authority has proactively mentioned the commission for setting up of a complaints redressal panel,” he said.

The minister announced that once the APPSC gets underway the case of disabled individual Mudang Yabyang will be reexamined.

He informed the directorate that in response to the state’s requests for an investigation, a letter detailing the situation had previously been delivered to the directorate on March 10.

In addition, the home minister urged the populace to help resolve the problem rather than let it worsen and urged people to stay away from similar circumstances in the future.
