Arunachal Government Signs MoU with ITBP to Boost Farm Production and Local Livelihoods

Arunachal: The Arunachal Pradesh government has taken a significant step towards promoting farm production and enhancing local livelihoods by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP).

This historic pact marks the launch of Mission Arun Himveer, an initiative aimed at strengthening the connection between local communities and the country’s security forces.

The MoU, signed with the Arunachal Pradesh Agriculture Marketing Board (APAMB), seeks to provide a market for local farm produce, thereby improving the livelihoods of farmers in the region. Chief Minister Pema Khandu emphasized the importance of this initiative, stating that people living in border areas are the sentinels of the country. He also highlighted the benefits of the MoU, noting that it would create a win-win situation for the government, farmers, and the ITBP.

The initiative, which was previously proposed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his team, has now come to fruition. Through this collaboration, the ITBP has extended its support to procure fresh, locally grown produce directly from farmers. This move is expected to boost the local economy and provide a much-needed market for farm produce.
