Arunachal Governor Briefs President Murmu on State’s Progress, Showcases Rich Biodiversity

New Delhi – The serene corridors of Rashtrapati Bhavan today played host to a significant meeting as Lieutenant General KT Parnaik, PVSM, UYSM, YSM (Retd.), the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, called on the Honourable President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu. He was accompanied by the First Lady of the State, Anagha Parnaik.

In a vibrant display of Arunachal’s natural bounty, Governor Parnaik presented President Murmu with a copy of “Orchids of Arunachal Pradesh.” This exquisite publication, a testament to the state’s unparalleled botanical wealth, meticulously documents its remarkable orchid diversity, featuring numerous rare and endemic species that underscore Arunachal’s global significance in the botanical world.

During their interaction, Governor Parnaik provided President Murmu with a comprehensive update on the state’s developmental journey. He reiterated Arunachal Pradesh’s unwavering commitment to the national aspiration of *Viksit Bharat, outlining the state’s localised vision for a Viksit Arunachal. The discussion covered several transformative projects and initiatives currently underway, all designed to significantly enhance the quality of life, bolster infrastructure, and foster social equity across the crucial border state.

The Governor also shared insights into the follow-up actions taken subsequent to the previous Governors’ Conference, highlighting Arunachal Pradesh’s proactive engagement in strengthening the spirit of cooperative federalism and aligning its developmental agenda with the nation’s core priorities.

Furthermore, Governor Parnaik brought to the President’s attention the impactful initiatives championed by the Raj Bhavan. He specifically highlighted efforts in public health, particularly the ongoing fight against tuberculosis, alongside various programmes focused on women empowerment, youth engagement, and crucially, improving access to healthcare and education in the state’s most remote and underserved regions.
