Arunachal Governor Calls for Village Volunteers to Aid in Healthcare and Sanitation Efforts
Northeast Desk, 10th May: During his visit to the Tomo Riba Institute of Health and Medical Science (TRIHMS) at Naharlagun, Arunachal Pradesh Governor KT Parnaik emphasized the importance of village volunteers trained in healthcare and sanitation to support remote communities. He suggested that such an initiative could address minor health issues in rural areas and promote cleanliness among villagers.
Governor Parnaik urged TRIHMS to engage its doctors and nursing officers in addressing challenges faced by districts. During his visit, he inspected various departments, including the Intensive Coronary Care Unit, Intensive Care Units, indoor patient wards, and emergency wards, and interacted with patients, doctors, and nursing staff.
He advised TRIHMS Director Dr. Moji Jini to provide periodic reports on ailments, enabling the identification of underlying causes to improve the state’s health index. Furthermore, Governor Parnaik highlighted the importance of automating health data to aid the state government in formulating effective policies and programs, with a focus on critical areas.
