Arunachal Governor Concludes Strategic Visit to Army Formations Along Assam Border

Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt Gen K T Parnaik (Retd) concluded a two-day visit to key Indian Army formations along the Assam border, reinforcing civil-military ties and underlining the strategic importance of the region.

The visit, held from June 11 to June 13, saw Governor Parnaik engage in in-depth discussions with Lt Gen Gambhir Singh, General Officer Commanding of the Gajraj Corps, and senior officers from the Red Horns and Blazing Sword Divisions.

Deliberations during the visit revolved around enhancing infrastructure in border areas, strengthening national security, and improving the welfare of ex-servicemen. The Governor also emphasized the need to modernize military training and boost operational preparedness through the adoption of advanced technologies, aligning with evolving security dynamics in the Northeastern frontier.

In a solemn moment, Governor Parnaik paid tribute at the Gajraj War Memorial, honouring the sacrifices of soldiers who laid down their lives in service of the nation. His tribute echoed the deep appreciation for the armed forces’ unwavering commitment to maintaining peace in the challenging terrains of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh.

The visit was seen as a reaffirmation of the state’s support for the armed forces and highlighted the importance of collaboration between civilian leadership and military command.
