Arunachal Governor Pushes for Tech-Driven Governance and Zero Tolerance for Corruption

Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt Gen K T Parnaik (retd.) today underscored the critical need for technology-driven governance in the state, making a significant appearance at a special Cabinet meeting held at the Chief Minister’s Office. The meeting, which marked one year of the current state government’s tenure, saw the Governor advocating for the robust integration of digital tools and automation to propel Arunachal forward. This was the first time Governor Parnaik attended a Cabinet meeting, highlighting the immense importance he places on this technological shift.

During the session, Governor Parnaik stressed the potent capabilities of artificial intelligence and automation in providing real-time data and analytics, thereby enhancing governance efficiency manifold. He articulated, “Automation is not only about making governance efficient, it is also about preparing ourselves for the opportunities and challenges of tomorrow,” setting a futuristic vision for the state administration.

Emphasising the foundational principles of transparency and accountability, the Governor urged the administration to ensure that every single rupee spent translates into tangible outcomes for the citizens. He reiterated a firm stance of zero tolerance towards corruption, calling for stringent accountability measures to be implemented across all levels of governance.

Governor Parnaik extended his hearty congratulations to Chief Minister Pema Khandu, Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, and the entire Cabinet for their commendable leadership. He lauded their successful endeavours in ensuring that development schemes reached even the most remote corners of the state. He characterised the administration’s approach as being firmly guided by the principles of reform, performance, and transformation, with an unwavering focus on inclusive development for all.

The Governor also expressed profound gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the central government for their unwavering support, acknowledging India’s remarkable ascent to become the world’s fourth-largest global economy. He specifically lauded the success of Operation Sindoor, recognising India’s growing leadership in safeguarding its citizens abroad.

Aligning with the national roadmap of ‘Viksit Bharat @2047,’ Governor Parnaik laid out the ambitious mission of ‘Viksit Arunachal,’ envisioning a resilient and future-ready state that significantly contributes to India’s overarching economic goals. He cited the resounding success of the ‘Seva Aapke Dwar’ programmes, which have already benefited over 15 lakh individuals, and announced plans for a third edition to effectively bridge the last-mile gap in service delivery.

“This one-year milestone reflects the state government’s spirit of service, integrity, and people-first governance,” Governor Parnaik stated, acknowledging the diligent efforts of government officials and grassroots functionaries alike in achieving this significant benchmark.

Concluding his address, the Governor advised a sustained focus on key sectors such as education, health, infrastructure, and tourism, identifying them as foundational pillars for economic growth and an improved quality of life for the people of Arunachal Pradesh. He also voiced concerns over prevalent land encroachments, advocating for a balanced and judicious approach to protect vital public assets for future generations.
