Arunachal Governor Reviews Security in Eastern Districts, Emphasizes Border Vigilance
Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt Gen K.T. Patnaik (Retd) on Monday reviewed the security situation in the easternmost districts of Tirap, Changlang, and Longding at Khonsa, Tirap district.
During the meeting, the Governor underscored the critical role of a secure environment in fostering the state’s development and progress.
Recognizing the strategic importance of the region, Governor Patnaik emphasized the need for robust measures to safeguard national interests and ensure the well-being of border residents. He categorically stated that no external interference would be tolerated.
Furthermore, Governor Patnaik reaffirmed the state’s commitment to protecting citizens from external influence and intimidation, issuing a stern warning against anti-national elements.
He urged security forces to strengthen their rapport with villagers in remote border areas, extending support through Sadbhavana projects to foster trust and cooperation within the community.
The meeting was attended by key officials, including Director General of Police Anand Mohan, Inspector General of Police P.N. Khrimey, Commander 25 Sector of the Assam Rifles Brig. Sarabjeet Singh, Tirap Deputy Commissioner Techu Aran, Superintendents of Police of Tirap, Changlang, and Longding, and representatives from the Border Roads Organization, Central Reserve Police Forces, and Assam Rifles. Tirap SP Singjatla Singpho presented an overview of the security situation in the TCL region during the meeting.
