Arunachal Governor Urges Armed Forces to Foster Community Ties in Dibang Valley Address
Arunachal Pradesh – Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt. Gen. KT Parnaik (retd) emphasized the strong ties between the state’s people and its armed forces during a Sainik Sammelan on Saturday, underscoring the critical role of community engagement in fostering goodwill.
Speaking to soldiers stationed in Dibang Valley, Governor Parnaik praised the public’s respect for the military and encouraged troops to deepen this bond by participating in welfare projects and promoting a collaborative approach with local residents.
Aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a “Viksit Bharat” (Developed India) and the Vibrant Border Village initiative, Governor Parnaik advocated for an active partnership between the armed forces and civilians. “The involvement of local populations is crucial to maintaining our border security. Their insight and ownership are essential for enhancing our security strategies along the northern frontier,” he stated. Highlighting Sadbhavana (goodwill) projects, the governor pointed to the importance of community ownership, noting that mutual support is key to a secure and harmonious border.
Governor Parnaik encouraged soldiers to stay physically prepared and vigilant while recognizing the value of strong civilian-military cooperation. He urged the troops to stay attentive to emerging threats and to actively foster a positive, collaborative environment that reinforces border security.
Notable attendees included Major General VS Deshpande, General Officer Commanding of the 2 Mountain Division, and Brigadier K Jayashankar, Commander of the 117 Mountain Brigade, as well as key local officials like Anini MLA Mopi Mihu, Deputy Commissioner Pagli Sora, and Superintendent of Police Ringu Ngupok. Their presence underscored a shared commitment to security and partnership in the border region.
