Itanagar: Thirty-five schools in the Itanagar Capital Region (ICR) of Arunachal Pradesh have been slapped with fines of ₹1 lakh each by the Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (APSCPCR).
The action follows the commission’s discovery of widespread non-compliance with established regulations, including the operation of unregistered private schools.
Alongside the fines, the institutions have also received show-cause notices demanding explanations for their violations.
APSCPCR Chairperson stated that this decisive step underscores the commission’s commitment to ensuring all schools in the region adhere to prescribed standards, prioritizing both quality education and the safety of children.
The commission has issued a stern warning, indicating that further penalties will be levied against institutions that fail to rectify their violations.
Increased scrutiny and inspections are being implemented to guarantee the maintenance of child protection and educational standards throughout Arunachal Pradesh. The fines are part of a larger push to enforce legal requirements for educational institutions and ensure they operate in the best interests of children.
The penalized schools include Aab Tebw Residential English School, Agepe Public School, Bethany English School, Bright Hill School, Budding Kids Home School, Care Foundation School, Chimpu Valley School, City Mission School, Ebenezer Residential School, Goyi Memorial School, Hornbill English School, Happy Country Kids Pre-School, Highland Academy, Holy Kids School, Holy Child School, Kidzee Kids Angel School, Mount Moriah Residential School, National Public School, Natkhat Play Home Pre-School, Sun Rise Public School, Rockford School, S.S Garden of Knowledge Play Home, Sacred Heart School, Sansys Smart School Tots, Smart Kids Pre-School, St. Claret School, St. Mary Mission School, St. Mary Pre-Primary School, Tarang Academy, Christ the King Academy, Toddler’s Garden Pre-School, Trinity Mission School, V.P Foundation School, Vrindavan Day Care Centre and Arunachal Valley Public School.
