Arunachal: Key Stakeholders Convene to Discuss Implementation of Itanagar Master Plan 2031
Northeast Desk, August 31, 2024 — A pivotal meeting was held today at IG Park to discuss the execution of the Itanagar Master Plan 2031 and the enforcement of the Arunachal Pradesh Building Bye-Laws 2010/19. The gathering, organized by Deputy Commissioner Talo Potom, brought together a wide range of stakeholders, including Heads of Departments, administrative officers, market welfare representatives, builders, and members of the public.
In his opening remarks, DC Potom emphasized the critical need for collective effort in implementing the Master Plan. “Unplanned development has hampered our city’s growth,” he stated, urging all participants to engage with the new plans enthusiastically and proactively. He stressed that future developmental steps should be deliberate and geared towards positive outcomes.
Director of Town Planning, Shri Likha Suraj, outlined the Master Plan 2031 as a well-regulated and comprehensive roadmap for the city’s development. He underscored the importance of adhering to the Master Plan and building regulations to ensure sustainable and organized urban growth.
The meeting featured detailed presentations on the Master Plan’s key components, delivered by Town Planner Dacha Bagang. His presentation addressed critical issues such as road widening, junction improvements, and infrastructure development. Bagang proposed various solutions aimed at enhancing the city’s overall growth and functionality.
Assistant Town Planner (ATP) Nabam Panchami, who welcomed the attendees, highlighted the Master Plan as a vital blueprint for planned urban development. Panchami emphasized the importance of bridging the knowledge gap between the Itanagar Planning Authority and the public, ensuring that all stakeholders are aligned in their efforts to guide the city’s future development.
The meeting concluded with a consensus on the importance of coordinated efforts in implementing the Itanagar Master Plan 2031, with all parties agreeing to work together to achieve the vision of a well-planned and sustainable Itanagar.
