Arunachal Kickboxers Shine with 12 Medals at Wako India Nationals

Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh’s kickboxing team delivered an impressive performance at the Wako India Seniors & Masters National Kickboxing Championship 2025, held in Raipur, Chhattisgarh from July 16 to 20, securing a total of 12 medals.

The team bagged three gold, three silver, and six bronze medals, showcasing the state’s growing prowess in the sport. Rantu Sonowal claimed gold in the -57kg K1 event, while Bishal Mura won gold in the -54kg Low Kick category. Licha Sep topped the podium in the -65kg Light Contact event and added a bronze in Point Fight, becoming the only double-medallist from the team.

Silver medals were secured by Robin Deori (-67kg K1), Jipe Lombi (-54kg K1), and Bem Tada (-86kg Full Contact). The bronze winners included Kabak Mallam (-60kg, Full Contact), Khyoda Talik (-57kg, Light Contact), Guchi Laila (-52kg, Full Contact), Gokia Pake (-70kg, K1), Pisa Ane (-65kg, Full Contact), and Licha Sep.

The Kickboxing Association of Arunachal lauded the athletes for their outstanding efforts and extended thanks to Wako India Kickboxing Federation president Santosh K. Agrawal for his guidance and support.
