Arunachal: KV Principal Held for Allegedly Molesting 9 Students

Guwahati: Arunachal Pradesh’s Upper Subansiri district Kendriya Vidyalaya principal has been arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting nine girl students of the school.

The victims revealed the incident to their parents on Tuesday (August 17), which led to its discovery.

According to Daporijo police station OC Token Dubi, a charge under section 354 IPC R/W 7 POCSO Act has been filed against the alleged culprit Akhileshwar Singh.

The alleged accused is currently under police custody.

Dubi stated that additional inquiries are being conducted while the victims’ comments have been recorded.

The students said to this reporter that despite their protests, the accused frequently groped their bodies and intimate areas while they were in class.

One of the victims claimed that they told their parents about the assaults as another instructor at the school had instructed them to do.

Singh was then detained on Wednesday as a result of the parents and guardians filing a complaint against him at the Daporijo police station.

The parents are demanding exemplary punishment for the culprit.
