Arunachal: KVK Geku Releases Crop Calendar to Aid Farmers in Upper Siang District

Northeast Desk, 23rd August: The Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) of Geku in Upper Siang District has launched a comprehensive crop calendar designed to assist farmers in optimizing crop management and decision-making. The calendar was officially unveiled at a ceremony held at the Civil Secretariat in Itanagar.

The event was graced by *Agriculture Minister Gabriel D Wangsu, who formally released the crop calendar. Also in attendance were **Talem Taboh, MLA of Rumgong and Advisor to the Minister of Agriculture, **Vivek Pandey, Agriculture Production Commissioner of Arunachal Pradesh, *G. Kadirvel, Director of ATARI, Zone VI in Guwahati, and other distinguished dignitaries.

The release took place during a meeting convened by the agriculture minister, gathering all KVKs in Arunachal Pradesh to discuss pertinent agricultural issues.

Oyinti Megu, Senior Scientist and Head of KVK, Upper Siang, highlighted the primary goal of the crop calendar: to enable farmers to make well-informed decisions that will enhance planning, optimize crop selection, improve crop management, and ultimately boost productivity and farm income.

The initiative marks a significant step forward in supporting farmers in Upper Siang and other regions of Arunachal Pradesh, aligning with the state’s broader agricultural development goals.
