Arunachal Minister Dasanglu Pul Pitches for Cultural Hub and Stronger Welfare in Delhi
Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh’s Women and Child Development Minister, Dasanglu Pul, concluded a productive series of meetings in New Delhi, advocating for accelerated development projects focused on culture, tourism, and welfare schemes across the state. Her engagements with key Union Ministers underscore Arunachal Pradesh’s commitment to preserving its rich heritage and bolstering social safety nets.
During her visit, Minister Pul held significant discussions with Union Culture and Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat. A core proposal put forth was the establishment of a regional cultural centre of the North East Zone Cultural Centre (NEZCC) at Jote, near the state capital. This proposed centre is envisioned as a vibrant focal point for safeguarding and promoting the indigenous art, music, and traditions that are unique to Arunachal Pradesh. “We are committed to preserving and promoting our rich cultural legacy. The proposed centre at Jote will serve as a vibrant hub for indigenous art, music, and traditions,” an official statement quoted Pul as saying, highlighting the cultural significance of the initiative. Additionally, the Minister stressed the importance of upgrading multi-purpose cultural complexes (MPCCs) throughout the state, aiming to create more inclusive community spaces for youth and artisans to engage, perform, and grow. Union Minister Shekhawat reportedly assured full support from the Centre for these cultural proposals, acknowledging the state’s proactive approach.
Later, Minister Pul met with Union Women and Child Development Minister Annapurna Devi to review the progress and challenges in implementing central welfare schemes in Arunachal Pradesh. The discussions delved into critical areas such as infrastructure deficits, delivery bottlenecks, and coordination gaps that impact the effective rollout of programmes for women and children. “The union minister was very receptive and appreciated Arunachal’s progressive approach in empowering women and protecting child rights,” Pul shared, indicating a positive reception to the state’s efforts. She further added that Union Minister Devi reaffirmed the Centre’s commitment to closer Centre-state coordination to ensure seamless execution of these vital schemes. Emphasising a collaborative spirit for holistic growth, Pul stated, “Together with the Centre, we remain focused on building a stronger and more inclusive future for our women and children.” The Minister also made a stop at the BJP central library at the party headquarters, where she met with Prof Dr Aseervatham Zachary, the national coordinator, describing the interaction as insightful and appreciating his contributions to the party’s intellectual framework.
