Arunachal Minister Inaugurates Oyan Ba:ne Gumin Hoyin De:re, Emphasizes Development and Cultural Heritage

Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Minister for Commerce & Industries, Nyato Dukam, on March 5, inaugurated the Oyan Ba:ne Gumin Hoyin De:re (Murong) in Sille-Oyan, a key administrative circle under Ruksin sub-division in East Siang, marking another milestone in the state’s development initiatives.

The newly inaugurated community hall is a modernized version of the old structure, which was originally built in 1989-90, and was funded under the North Eastern Council (NEC), Government of India, and executed by the RWD Pasighat Division.

During the event, Dukam lauded the efforts of the Oyan Dere (Murong) Organising Committee, led by President Mojit Pao, alongside community members, PRIs, GBs, youth volunteers, and intellectuals, for their commitment to the region’s progress. He emphasized the vital role of community halls in preserving socio-cultural traditions and assured government support for additional infrastructure, including a boundary wall.

Highlighting the state’s broader development agenda, Dukam urged the people to combat the drug menace, embrace self-reliance, and uphold the dignity of labor, stressing that these values are crucial for Arunachal Pradesh’s path to prosperity and self-sufficiency.

The function was graced by several dignitaries, including Local MLA Ninong Ering, State BJP President Kaling Moyong, DC Tayi Taggu, SP Pankaj Lamba, ZPM Oyan Bimol Lego, HGB Jotin Bori, Chief Advisor of the Organising Committee Boken Pao, Chief Councillor Okiam Moyong Borang, and District BJP President Mirem Komut.

State BJP President and Guest of Honor, Kaling Moyong, underscored the need to preserve and promote indigenous languages and dialects, calling them essential pillars of Arunachal’s cultural identity. He urged the community to work together as ‘Team Arunachal’ to achieve shared goals of progress and development.

Meanwhile, MLA Ninong Ering praised the youth and community members for their spirit of collective progress and transformation, stressing the need for continued government support to fulfill socio-economic aspirations. DC Tayi Taggu also encouraged the youth to contribute towards environmental protection, public health, hygiene, and education, ensuring the sustainability of public assets.

Chief Advisor of the Organising Committee, Boken Pao, extended gratitude to the state government and local MLA for their support in realizing the long-standing need for a modernized community hall. He also called for sustained efforts toward the holistic development of the Sille-Oyan area.

The event concluded with a cultural program, celebrating the region’s rich traditions, as dignitaries, local leaders, and community members reaffirmed their commitment to progress, cultural preservation, and community welfare.
