Arunachal: Monpa Culture to Shine in Delhi on Republic Day

Itanagar: Around 60 young performers from Arunachal Pradesh’s Mon Tawang region are set to captivate audiences in Delhi with their presentation of Monpa culture and dance. The group will showcase their traditional art on Republic Day, January 26, in the national capital.

Under the leadership of Tsangpa Norbu, president of the Monpa Artist Forum, the group has been diligently preparing for the prestigious event. Ahead of their departure, the Monpa Artist Forum’s Dirang and Bomdila units organized a felicitation ceremony to honor the performers and extend their best wishes for the performance.

In a separate accomplishment for Arunachal Pradesh, the East Siang unit of the Arunachal Pradesh Service Pensioners’ Association (APSPA) has undertaken a commendable social responsibility initiative by renovating and developing schools in the region.

Led by President Bodong Yirang, a retired District Elementary Education Officer (DEE), and General Secretary Dr. Onik Moyong, a retired medical professional, the APSPA East Siang unit has revitalized infrastructure in schools across the Mebo, Bilat, and Ruksin clusters.

The improvements include the renovation and repainting of Government Primary School buildings in Langko (Mebo block), the restoration of Tako Gao Memorial Government Primary School in Sika Tode (Ruksin block), and the construction of boundary walls, ceilings, and a morning assembly area at Government Primary School, Tekang (Bilat block).

Cluster Resource Centre Coordinator Banom Tayeng confirmed the developments, highlighting the association’s dedication to enhancing educational facilities in the state.

These initiatives reflect the cultural pride and social commitment of Arunachal Pradesh, showcasing both its rich traditions and the community’s efforts to support the next generation.
