Arunachal: NSCN (IM) Militant Apprehended in Joint Operation in Changlang District

Northeast Desk, 15th May: In a coordinated effort, security forces apprehended an NSCN (IM) militant near Laktong in Changlang district on May 13. Acting on actionable intelligence, a joint team comprising the 31 Assam Rifles and state police personnel launched an operation in the general area of Laktong.

The operation resulted in the successful arrest of the militant, identified as self-styled sergeant Wangmun Khimhun, who hails from Yanman village in Khimyong, Changlang district. Khimhun, an active member of the NSCN (IM) outfit, has been handed over to the Changlang police station for further interrogation and legal proceedings.

This development marks a significant breakthrough in the ongoing efforts to maintain peace and security in the region, showcasing the effectiveness of collaborative operations between security agencies.
