Arunachal: Nyishi Youth Condemn Roing Killing, Urge Peace and Swift Justice

Itanagar: The All Nyishi Youth Association (ANYA) has vociferously condemned the recent “barbaric and tragic” killing of a Mishing youth in Roing, Lower Dibang Valley, expressing profound sorrow and solidarity with the grieving family and the entire Mishing community.

In an official statement released this Tuesday, ANYA President Jamru Ruja appealed to the public to maintain calm, urging them to allow the legal process to unfold. “Justice must be served swiftly and fairly. We appeal to the State Government and law enforcement agencies to take strict and immediate action against the perpetrator(s) as per the law,” the statement underscored, highlighting the need for prompt resolution.

The association also made a heartfelt plea to protestors, requesting that demonstrations avoid harming or inconveniencing innocent commuters or individuals. “No innocent person should suffer because of the wrong committed by one,” it added, emphasizing the importance of protecting the wider public during expressions of dissent.

Highlighting the paramount importance of communal harmony, ANYA firmly discouraged any attempts to generalize blame along community lines. “A criminal has no caste, creed, or community. Let us uphold peace, justice, and unity above all,” affirmed Ruja, stressing the need to isolate the criminal act from communal identity.

The youth association reiterated its unwavering stance against such heinous acts, asserting that there is no place for such perpetrators in society. This call comes amidst escalating tensions in the region following the incident, with several groups staging protests demanding justice. ANYA’s statement serves as a timely and crucial call for restraint, accountability, and collective healing during this sensitive period for the communities involved.
