Itanagar: In a poignant gesture of respect and solidarity, the Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh paid a personal visit to the home of Late Corporal Tage Hailyang in Tajang village, Ziro, following the young airman’s martyrdom in the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir. Corporal Hailyang, who served with the Indian Air Force since 2017, laid down his life while selflessly guiding civilians to safety amid the chaos of the attack.
Describing Hailyang as a symbol of exceptional courage and unshakable patriotism, the Chief Minister met with the bereaved family and assured them that the state stood with them in their hour of grief. He hailed the martyr’s valor, stating that his act of remaining behind to help others escape the ambush was a reflection of the highest ideals of service and sacrifice.
To honour the fallen hero, the Chief Minister announced a comprehensive support package from the State Government. This includes a government job for one eligible member of the family, financial assistance of Rs 50 lakhs, and the construction of a permanent memorial in Tajang village. The memorial, the Chief Minister noted, will stand not only as a tribute to Hailyang’s legacy but also as an enduring inspiration for generations to come.
Late Tage Hailyang’s courage has resonated far beyond Arunachal Pradesh, earning admiration across the nation. As the state mourns his loss, it also takes pride in the bravery he displayed in the line of duty—a legacy that will forever remain etched in India’s collective memory.
